Course Summary

Ever watched a sports person do something that has the wow-factor and thought ‘how did they do that’?

A Level PE takes the sporting performance of any athlete and breaks it down. How did the mind and bodyinterlink to allow that to happen? How did the food they ate or the supplements they used give them theedge? How did their brain choose to do that out of the thousands of choices it could have made instead? ALevel PE students seek to answer these questions.

Course Details

The course comprises of the following:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Skills Aquisition
  • Sport and Society
  • Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics
  • Sports Psychology
  • Sport Technology

How will it be delivered and assessed?

What are lessons like?

-You will study this subject 5 hours a week.

-Lessons will be a variety of theory and practically based sessions.

Entry requirements

As well as our general entry requirements for Level 3 study, students should attain a 5 in GCSE Science and must be competing regularly in at least one sport to a good standard.
