Course Summary
Photography lessons are engaging, inspiring and busy. The course is practical and therefore students will belearning and applying both technical and traditional photographic techniques. ICT is used for digital imaging,research and producing an electronic portfolio of work. If you have a keen interest in photography and lens-based media, this course will enable you to develop your personal creative vision.
Course Details
In Year 12 you will learn about the formal elements of Art and Photography, how to use composition andviewpoint, and develop a variety of camera and digital techniques. You will also compose a portfolio of workwhich demonstrates the development of your photographic skills. In Year 13 you will apply the skills andtechniques you’ve learned in a personal investigation on an aspect of photography.

Entry requirements
You will need to meet our general entry requirements for Level 3 study (5 GCSE passes including English). Whist it is advantageous that students who choose to study A-level Photography have studied some aspect of Art, Design, Media or Photography, this is not essential.
