Course Summary

The UAL Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production is designed for students who are passionate about music and aspire to build a career in the music industry. This course offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of music performance, production techniques, and industry knowledge.

WHO IS THE COURSE AIMED AT?

This course is aimed at students who have a strong interest in music and are looking to develop their skills to a professional level. It is suitable for those who wish to pursue further education or a career in music performance, production, or related fields.

Course Details

Students will learn a range of skills, including:

· Music theory and composition
· Live performance techniques
· Recording and production skills
· Use of industry-standard software and equipment
· Project management and collaborative working
· Understanding of the music business and marketing strategies

Entry requirements

You must have a minimum of four GCSEs 9-4 or equivalent, including English Language or Literature and Maths.

You must have previous performance experience of either playing a musical instrument, singing, rapping or music production. You may be asked to audition or show examples of your work. .

Students will have opportunities to engage in various experiences, such as:

PROGRESSION

Upon completion of this course, students can progress to higher education courses such as a Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Production, or related fields. Alternatively, they can pursue apprenticeships or direct employment in the music industry. Several of our former students have gone on to work as professional performers, session musicians, producers and composers.

OUTCOMES

Graduates of this course will have developed a solid foundation in music performance and production. They will possess the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional attributes needed to succeed in the creative industries. Students will be equipped to contribute effectively to the music sector and pursue various career pathways.
