Course Summary

Do you want to become part of this fast-growing industry? If you want to become a Beauty Therapist or Nail Technician and enjoy learning in both practical and classroom environments, then this is the course for you. Over the year, we will train you to the highest standards so you are able to work with people to make them feel good, pampered and relaxed.

WHO IS THE COURSE AIMED AT?

This course is for you if you have an interest in beauty therapy and want to start your journey in the exciting beauty industry. You should be positive and motivated, and able to provide models for your beauty therapy treatments and services.

Course Details

The course is broken down into a number of units covering a wide range of beauty therapy procedures and practices.

Throughout the course you will learn about:
• Working in beauty related industries
• Health and safety practice in the salon
• Client care and communication in beauty related industries
• Promoting products and services to clients in a salon
• Salon reception duties
• Providing facial skincare
• Removing hair using waxing techniques
• Providing manicure treatments
• Providing pedicure treatments
• Providing eyelash and brow treatments

There are also a range of optional units such as:
• Applying make-up
• Providing and maintaining nail enhancements

How will it be delivered and assessed?


Entry requirements

You must have a minimum of four GCSEs grade 9-3 or equivalent, including English, Maths and preferably Science.

EXPERIENCES

You will be trained both in the classroom and the college’s training salon, where you will develop your understanding of the wide range of practices and procedures needed to work in the exciting beauty therapy industry such as providing facial skincare, waxing, manicure, pedicure, artificial nails, eye treatments, client care and health and safety. You will be working with others and giving and receiving treatments. You will also get the opportunity to learn from industry professionals as they visit the college in areas like spray-tanning.

PROGRESSION

This is the perfect course to set the basis for a Level 3 qualification in Beauty.

OUTCOMES

Students who complete a qualification in Beauty Therapy go on to a wide variety of jobs. These can include: Beauty Therapist, Masseuse, Nail Technician or Lash Technician, to name a few!
