Course Summary

This programme is designed for you if you want to progress into the fast-moving digital and IT sector. It provides a strong foundation of technical knowledge and practical skills, supporting progression to employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

Course Details

You’ll develop a broad range of skills linked to software and digital product development, including procedural and event-driven programming, creative digital design, web development, database systems design and systems analysis. Learning is practical and industry-focused, helping you understand how digital technologies are developed and used in real-world contexts.

You’ll build games to strengthen your coding ability across different platforms, develop your computational thinking skills, and complete valuable work experience within the digital industry. Alongside your technical training, you’ll also develop wider employability skills that are essential for careers in technology.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This is a full-time programme combining classroom learning, practical workshops, project-based work, independent study and industry work experience. Teaching is designed to reflect current digital industry practices. 50 percent practical and 50 percent theory based course.

4 x GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, including Maths and English

On successful completion, you can progress to university-level study or enter employment in roles such as software developer, web developer, systems analyst, network administrator or IT support technician. The course also supports progression into digital and technology-focused apprenticeships.
