Course Summary

On this programme, our two purpose built wards provide hands on opportunities for you to support individuals across a variety of care settings. You will develop essential skills in communication, safeguarding, wellbeing, and person centred practice, cultivating the empathy, professionalism, and confidence needed to excel in the sector.

You will take part in practical sessions and scenario-based activities designed to replicate real frontline situations, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in a safe, supportive environment. You will also have opportunities to observe best practices, reflect on professional standards, and develop the critical thinking skills that underpin high quality care.

This programme will give you a thorough understanding of care delivery, teamwork, and ethical considerations, preparing you to meet the expectations of employers and provide safe, effective, and compassionate support in a range of healthcare and social care settings.

    How will it be delivered and assessed?

    Teaching is varied and interactive, including classroom learning, practical workshops, group activities, presentations, and independent research. You’ll be assessed through a mix of internal and external tasks- coursework, essays, reports, case studies, and presentations- giving you multiple ways to demonstrate your knowledge and abilities. Throughout the course, you’ll receive regular feedback and personalised support to help you progress, grow, and succeed.

    Entry requirements

    4 x GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above, or Level 1 Subject Qualification.

    Your next steps...

    On successful completion of this programme, you can progress to Level 3 study in Health or Health and Social Care, or move directly into employment within the sector. You will have developed a strong foundation of practical skills, professional knowledge, and confidence, equipping you to take on roles such as care assistant, support worker, or early years practitioner.
