How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment involves two externally marked exams and two internally assessed coursework units. Students explore physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development, alongside anatomy, care values, and public health.
Entry requirements
You will need to meet our general entry requirements for Level 3 study, which is 5 GCSE passes including English. As well as this, students should also have a minimum of a grade 4 in Science.

This course is the ideal preparation for progression to employment in the Health & Social care sector. Previous SM6 students have progressed to degrees in nursing, midwifery, social work, education studies, psychology, primary teaching, early childhood studies and occupational health – to name just a few! Some of ourstudents have also successfully secured apprenticeships in the Healthcare sector including as NHS Healthcare Assistants.
