What you will learn

Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care – Understand this legal and ethical responsibility that ensures all individuals receive fair, respectful and inclusive care.

Human growth and development – Learn the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes that occur throughout a person’s life, from birth to old age

Safeguarding and protection for health and social care – Look at the essential responsibilities that ensure individuals, especially children, vulnerable adults, and those at risk, are kept safe from harm, abuse and neglect.

Communication in health and social care – Understand how to deliver safe, respectful and person-centred services

Working in health and social care – Study delivering person-centred, safe, and respectful care

Anatomy and physiology – For health and social care

Common care disorders – Understand common health problems for people in care

Creative activities in health and social care – Learn a variety of activities to support those in care

How will it be delivered and assessed?

A variety of assessment methods are used including assignments, presentations, displays and written reports.
There is currently no exams for this qualification, but you will complete an externally assessed research project.

Entry requirements

Level 3 – 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths

Progression from Level 1 to 2 and from Level 2 to 3 would also require a pass at the lower-level vocational course
