Construction - Part-time Qualifications for Skills: NVQ Diploma Wood Occupations (Construction)

This Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) qualification is suitable for those who are starting employment working as a site carpenter.

This qualification enables you, to recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding as well as demonstrate your competence in the workplace whilst developing in the role of a site carpenter.

On this level 1 programme you will study 6 mandatory units

• Installing internal mouldings in the workplace

• Installing side hung doors in the workplace

• Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area (Recommended Qualification Structure (RQS) for Wood Occupations (Construction) Level 1).

You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified lecturer/assessor who will work with you and help you complete the qualification.

You will be required to produce a Portfolio of Evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit required within the qualification, as directed by your lecturer/assessor.

There are no formal entry requirements to take this NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

Further training and/or experience will enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace.
