Course Summary
The Business Administrator Standard is designed as a 15 month programme and is for apprentices who wish to gain the skills, behaviours and knowledge required to work in a responsible administrative role. The training will help learners with the day to day administrative duties to improve their skills.
Course Details
The standard will require apprentices to preform a range of administrative duties and may involve them working as part of a team, or independently and will support them in developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Learners will develop strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopt a proactive approach to developing skills such as problem solving, decision making and managing priorities. Apprentices will also need to complete functional skills in English and maths if they do not already have equivalent qualifications.
The standard consists of the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Delivery is undertaken in a number of ways, in order to meet the needs of the learner and the employer. This can be done by attending face to face classroom sessions in our local training centre, remotely online using Zoom, Goto or Teams or a mix of both in blended learning sessions. In addition, all sessions are available via our online platform should the learner miss an sessions. Apprentices will also have monthly one-to-one support meetings with their assessor to undertake assessments and reviews in order to assess skills gained and reinforce the knowledge learnt from the delivery sessions. The end point assessment will consist of a multiple choice knowledge test (1 hour), an interview based on a portfolio of work undertaken during the course, and a 15 minute presentation on a project completed or a process improved.
Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English grade 4/C or equivalent are preferred, However, if you do not have these grades then we can help you to gain Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English.
Your next steps...
When apprentices complete the standard they will receive a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship standard certificate. If learners do not already hold a GCSE grade C (or 4) or above, or equivalent qualification, they will also need to complete the functional skills Level 2 certificates in English and Maths.
