About the SEND section

SEND

Special educational needs and disability is often called SEND.

This section of the website covers many choices that might help a young person with SEND when leaving school and taking the next step. Moving onto the next stage is often called 'transition'.

You should still use the other pages on the website as there will be lots of useful information for you there too. The web pages in the SEND section are designed to give a bit of extra SEND information.

What is the >log on | move on> website for?

You have to take part in some kind of education of training until you are 18 years old. This is because of the Raising of the Participation Age law. The >log on | move on> website is here to help you find out what your options are for when you finish school, decide which is the best choice for you, and make applications to your preferred option(s). Your options might be:

  • Further education or higher education.
  • An apprenticeship.
  • Supported employment.
  • Volunteering.

Visit the different pages of this website to find out more about your options, how to decide which is the best choice for you, and how to apply.
