The Consortium Sixth Form College Wolfreton Campus
Well Lane, Willerby, HU10 6HB
About us
The Consortium Sixth form College works together across two campuses at Wolfreton and Hessle to provide a vibrant and successful community, supporting students in achieving their ambitions.
We have developed an exciting and varied range of courses that combines both new, vocational opportunities with the more traditional, long established subjects. This wide ranging offer enables our students to realise their ambitions; fulfilling their individual needs.
Student support
We will support you every step of the way and are dedicated to getting you to where you want to be. Your Student Services Manager will help you settle in and will be a vital point of contact for advice and information.
With Sixth Form study comes freedom and independence. We will help develop your skills every step of the way. Our students learn to manage their time, plan their studies and become reflective learners. This is a fantastic grounding for higher education and employment.
You will become part of a tutor group and your tutor will be there to help you settle into a different way of working and a different culture, review your progress regularly and offer support and guidance as you need it. They will link you to the most experienced teachers or careers specialists as and when you need them. Your tutor will have regular meetings with you to discuss any concerns but also identify any academic or careers support if needed.
As a Year 12 student, you will be provided with your own new laptop to facilitate your studies, both whilst you are with us in the Sixth Form and when you leave us to progress onto university or other positive destinations.
What makes us different?
The Consortium Sixth Form is friendly and welcoming. As a student with us you will experience new and different environments making it an ideal opportunity to make new friends. You will be treated as an individual and provided with all the support needed to help you achieve your aspirations. The quality of teaching delivered is of a very high standard and you can gain extra skills from our enrichment programme which also provide some light hearted fun!.
Throughout the year, both campuses are a hive of social activity. The Student Council is actively involved in this, developing new ideas and supporting the management and leadership of the sixth form. You too can play an active part by becoming involved, planning, and organising fun events and activities for everyone to get stuck into.
Whether it’s a themed charity fundraising day, a BBQ or that all important final year prom, you can be sure that you’ll want to be a part of something that’s going on! Students can also take on the student ambassador role supporting subject areas and events such as open evenings.

Additional information
Enrichment
Having a great set of academic qualifications is a very small part of what makes a person shine. We offer a variety of enrichment opportunities in addition to your regular studies. From trips and visits, work experience, sport, courses and volunteering there are so many options open to you. For future medics, teachers and lawyers, we have specialist programmes tailored to meet your needs.
Our campuses also have a great social community. Our Sixth Form Student Councils focus on the Sixth Form experience and plan events for everyone to take part in. We are privileged to have extremely generous students who regularly donate time and money for those less fortunate than themselves by organising charity fundraising events for various local and national charities.
Work Experience - We feel that it is important that our students should have experience of the workplace, so during the summer term all of our Year 12 students have the opportunity to take part in a week of work experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the soft skills that employers expect, such as Business and Customer Awareness, Communication and Literacy, Self-management, Application of Number, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Application of Digital Technologies. Work experience is also an extremely useful addition to a CV or future applications for employment, apprenticeships or university.
Your Future
The majority of our students progress to university once they have completed their studies. We will guide you through the whole UCAS process, from selecting the right university to completing and submitting your application.
We provide the opportunity to visit universities and to attend UCAS Discovery. This event hosts and showcases around 100 universities from across the country, giving you the chance to talk with representatives about the degree courses available to you. As well as links with Oxbridge, we also offer specialist programmes for future Medics, Lawyers and Teachers.
Careers Information, Advice and Guidance also feature highly. For those of you looking to gain employment or an apprenticeship, we provide a wide range of resources and opportunities to help guide and assist you. These include specialist career pathway sessions, employer talks, a careers interview and support with recruitment processes.
