Student support

Academic Mentors
Every student will have an Academic Mentor. Students will attend weekly group tutorials, one to one learner progress meetings and have the opportunity to work closely with their mentor on key areas such as university, apprenticeship and job applications. As well as this wrap around support mentors of the students, they will work with the individual to ensure they reach their fullest potential.

The Study Support Team
If at any point you feel as though you are struggling with any aspect of your course or if you would like support to help you achieve top grades, our Study Support Tutors are here to help.

Based in the Study Centre, they offer individual or small group tuition, as well as support in the classroom. You can call into the Centre any time during the day if you need a quiet working area. Or if you would like to benefit from subject-specific support, you can speak with your teachers who will arrange for you to meet with a Study Support Tutor.

All our staff receive ongoing safeguarding training in child protection upon joining the college and we have a specialist safeguarding team led by a designated safeguarding officer, who ensures we promote student welfare and protect students from harm.

Financial Support
We offer financial support to eligible students with our bursary scheme. We also offer discounted meals.

We have qualified counsellors on site to provide support to students who may be experiencing personal problems. The counsellors will listen to them and support them as long as they need.
