Course Summary

Take your engineering skills to the next level.

To join this course, you will need to have completed a HNC in a related engineering discipline. The HND is designed for those who are ready to deepen their knowledge and develop the advanced skills needed to succeed in today’s fast-moving engineering sector.

Whether you are progressing from your HNC or looking to enhance your career prospects, this course will build your confidence in problem-solving, innovation, and technical application. You’ll expand your understanding of core engineering principles while developing the practical and analytical skills valued by employers.

This qualification also provides a clear pathway to further study. If you’re considering progressing to a full BEng degree, you may be able to take advantage of our Degree Apprenticeship route and complete your degree in a shorter timeframe.

Course Details

As you progress, you’ll apply your learning to real-world engineering challenges, developing the confidence to design, analyse, and improve complex systems. You’ll build in-demand skills in programming, automation, control, and electronics—preparing you for modern, high-tech engineering environments.

Alongside your technical knowledge, you will strengthen your research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities—key skills that employers value and that will support your career progression or further study.
