If you decide you would like to change your course choices, there is no need to submit a new application. You can discuss and change your choices at your interview.

You only need to attend one interview, even if you would like to change your course choices or are interested in studying multiple courses.

The University of the Arts London Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology has been designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media-related subjects including media, film, music, performing arts, photography and graphic design.

The qualification is for students who have an interest in media, film and sound production, and who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full‐time, practical, and immersive learning experience.

WHO IS THE COURSE AIMED AT?

This course is for you if you want a successful career in one of the many fields of media, film, and production. It is an ideal stepping stone to further study at Level 3 in subjects such as media production, music, performing arts, film and graphic design.

The qualification is made up of nine units and students must successfully complete eight of them; seven are mandatory and one unit is optional from a choice of two. All units relate to the media and film sector, all are delivered through vocational learning.

The units focus on the underpinning skills, knowledge and understanding that support all media activity. The units have been designed to allow them to be delivered in a way that meets the specific needs of each student group. The ‘Final Major Project’ allows students to demonstrate all the learning that has taken place through completion of the other units.

Four 9-3 grades or equivalent, including English and/or Maths. You must have an interest and some experience of a creative discipline (e.g. Media & Film, Music, Graphic Design, Photography).

EXPERIENCES

This course will provide you with the opportunity to take part in planning, filming, editing and producing a range of media projects. You will also experience talks from visiting speakers and industry professionals to help you to understand the best career pathway for you.

PROGRESSION

The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology is delivered over one year and will enable students to develop a portfolio of work that could support progression into a range of qualifications at Level 3. The majority of students completing this course will progress to further study on Level 3 Creative Arts courses, typically the UAL Creative Media Production course, Level 3 Art and Design courses, Level 3 Music or Performing Arts.

OUTCOMES

After building your creative skills and experience this course is an excellent route into Level 3 study in a range of areas in the Creative Arts. The majority of our students go on to study Level 3 Media, Music or Performing Arts having developed their creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
