Course Details

Working with wood is a skill that is highly valued in the construction industry. The Level Two Carpentry and Joinery Study Programme is an intermediate course for those looking at becoming woodworkers. Aimed at those looking to work in the construction environment before they begin working as a tradesman, it can be completed successfully in the College environment without the need for workbased evidence, unlike an NVQ. You’ll learn the theory and hands-on practical skills in roofing, stairs, doors, frames, windows, and health and safety. With our Employability Skills Passport, you’ll also cover skills that employers demand; you will learn to work safely and as a team. The programme is validated by C-Skills and the CITB, and follows national standards. You can continue onto an advanced apprenticeship or find employment within the construction sector as a junior, or onto a professional construction course.
