Course Summary
This T Level has been developed in collaboration with engineering experts to ensure the content meets the needs of industry and prepare you for the workplace.
You will develop an in-depth understanding of how the Engineering industry works, the principles of design, and the role of technology and sustainability to launch you into your career.
Course Details
What you will study at level 3 / T Level:
- Engineering and environmental health and safety
- Engineering organisational efficiency and improvement
- Computer-aided design (CAD) techniques
- Computer numerical control (CNC)
- Programming/machining
- General engineering maintenance techniques
Trips, visits & guest speakers - As part of the study programme, tutors will endeavor to arrange guest speakers and visits to relevant work environments and/or manufacturers to gain an understanding of the processes of the industry. Parental/guardian permission for trip is essential and will be sought at the beginning of the course to prevent delays or disappointment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
How will I be assessed? You will be assessed via different methods during your course completing both theory and practical assessments there will be external exams, controlled assessments and an employer-led set project. Upon completion you will be awarded an overall grade of pass, merit, distinction, or distinction*
The T Level course requires learners to complete an extended industry placement of 315 hours minimum (approx 45 days). Learners will be supported in this element of their course to ensure the course requirements are met.
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths.
