Course Summary
Working under fully trained welders with a wealth of experience, and attending college training sessions, you will over the period of the apprenticeship become fully trained and competent to examine a work piece for defects, measure work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specification. Weld or tack weld metal parts together, using spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment. Setting up and operating standard welding equipment, the use of band saw, plasma cutter, kingspan. Reading drawings for chassis, roof bars and floor bars for modular buildings
Course Details
An exciting opportunity for a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice. The post holder will be taught by qualified members of a team and will often be required to work using their own initiative and autonomously in this specialist field and seeking management support as required.
Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English A-C/9-4 or level 2 in functional skills are desirable but not essential
Basic knowledge of working with hand tools and small battery operated power tools is desirable, good hand eye co-ordination. Health and safety conscious
Motivated and willing to learn is essential. Good communicator. Punctual
