City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Land-Based Operations

This is an introductory-level course that is designed to allow students interested in a career in the land-based sector to develop the confidence and skills they will need whilst studying. It makes the best possible use of the college’s outstanding facilities and is a mixture of Horticulture, Engineering, Agriculture and Countryside studies.

• Maintenance of structures and surfaces
• Maintenance of equipment
• Planting and establishing plants
• Habitat management work
• Animal care
• Work experience and employability skills
• English and Maths, as required.

A genuine passion for the subject and one satisfactory reference is needed.

Students can progress to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Agriculture.
