Course Summary
The BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) readies students for the Dance and Theatreindustry, fostering resilience and a mix of academic and vocational skills to prepare them for higher educationor professional training. Led by a leading UK PA and Dance faculty, this course empowers aspiring performers toenhance their skills with diverse enrichment options.

Topics covered include Jazz Dance, Contemporary Dance, Dance appreciation, Choreography andCommunity Dance practice.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
- On this course, there are two externally assessed units. The first is an unseen written essay style which has 4 weeks preparation and 3 hours to complete. The second is a practical performance that has a guided learning hour of 60. Both assessments are sent to the exam board for marking.
• The other units are completed in-house. They are marked by the department and sent off to the examination board for standards verification.
• All units are supported by a research task, in the form of an essay, as well as a comprehensive reflective journal.
Entry requirements
A solid foundation in Dance - either a Level 2 qualification or graded Dance syllabus examinations - is recommended for this course. If not, consider evening classes in Hull.
