AAQ Level 3 Extended Certificate Applied Science

The qualification is designed to be taken alongside A Levels as part of a study programme. It can link to learning in a range of A Level subjects such as A Level Psychology and A Level Sociology. The Pearson Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification BTEC National in Applied Science (Extended Certificate) is intended for students that wish to progress into higher education as a pathway to employment and post-16 students with an interest in science, aiming to progress to higher education as a route to graduate level employment.

3 external exams 50 marks for units 1,2 & 3 Pass, Merit, Distinction

2 internal units (4,5) based around assignments and Pass, Merit, Distinction

You could go straight into employment, for example, as a lab technician or progress onto a vocational, science based degree programme such as Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences, Nursing or Secondary Science Education.
