Course Summary

A-Level German develops advances language skills and deepens cultural awareness of German-speaking societies. Students enhance their listening, reading, speaking and writing abilities through themes such as social issues, political life, and artistic culture. The specification encourages critical thinking and independent learning, preparing students for further study or careers requiring strong langauge proficiency and intercultural competence.

Course Details

The course includes the study of literary texts and films, grammar, and an independent research project presented in an oral exam.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is exam-based, covering comprehension, translation, essay writing, and spoken interaction.

Entry requirements

As well as our standard entry requirements of 5 GCSE passes including English, German students must attain a minumum of a grade 6 in GCSE German.
