Course Summary
This two year course combines academic sporting qualifications with practical skills development, coaching and competitive fixtures and is designed for students wishing to develop a comprehensive overview of the sports industry with a specific focus fitness, coaching and leadership.
Course Details
During the Level 3 Diploma in Sport you will specialise in modules relating to sport, fitness and personal training. The course is set up to engage learners in their studies, this is illustrated through 50% practical and 50% theoretical.
Learners will have many opportunities to understand the impact of their learning through practical work with external fitness providers, gyms, local schools and clubs as well as organisations that deliver sport and exercise and will develop a comprehensive overview of the sport industry with specific focus on the practical, the theory and the social side; this will not only set them up to work towards a career in sport, but also to become a better version of themselves.
During the course students will recognise the impact, relevance and importance of their studies with regular trips to local exercise and fitness providers, as well as volunteering and completing work experience within the sports industry.and will participate in regular fitness and sport session to not only learn, but improve all areas to develop deeper understanding and gain credibility within the sports industry.
The course also offers the opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zone through the regular delivery of sport and fitness sessions with local organisations and schools
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment: Written Assignments, workplace evidence, course work, practical assessments.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, to include 2 from English, Maths or Science with at least a grade 3 in the remaining subject. Alternatively, a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English, Maths and Science at Level 2.
