Course Summary

This course builds on the Level One NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations (Electrical) programme. It will allow learners to gain an understanding of how to work as an electrician, using the industry standard tools, machinery and equipment that electricians use.

Working safely in an engineering environment Working efficiently and effectively in engineering Using and communicating technical information Assembling electrical wiring support systems Wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits Maintaining electrical equipment/systems Forming and assembling electrical cable enclosure and support systems

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Each unit of study contains a list of tasks or competencies that have to be successfully completed to the required standard. These tasks can be assessed in a number of different ways such as being observed by a qualified assessor or checked via relevant written work in a logbook. You will complete a substantial portfolio of evidence of work during the course that will consist of practical exercises, logbook entries, photographic evidence.

A minimum of two GCSEs including mathematics and a science/technology subject Satisfactory College interview An initial assessment
