Course Summary

Our performing arts courses are designed to help you initially develop your skills in all disciplines as that is what the industry wants! We start by achieving a good grounding in all areas of performing arts and allow you to develop and refine your skills in your chosen specialism(s) when you progress to the 2nd year of level 3.

Course Details

Level 2 Units of Study:

Professional Development
  • Time management and organisation using platforms like Microsoft Teams and OneNote
  • Self-discipline and work ethic understanding the performing arts industry demands for dedication and perseverance
  • Building communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
Rehearsal Skills
  • Fundamentals of rehearsal techniques in acting, dance, singing and musical theatre
  • Learn effective feedback processes in rehearsal settings
  • Problem-solving and adaptability preparing for unexpected situations that can arise during performances
Performance Skills
  • Develop your stage presence and confidence for live theatre performances
  • Understand the specific demands of performing for TV and film work
  • Audience awareness and connection in being able to provide your customers with an experience they won’t forget
Production Skills
  • Gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of stage crew and technical teams
  • Learn basic principles of health and safety in a performance environment
  • Explore how production enhances performance

Trips, visits & guest speakers - Opportunities to work and perform in a Theatre production, Great work readiness, communication and resilience, which will give you the skills to be able to progress onto the next level.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, preferably including either English or Maths
