Course Summary

Are you 16-29?

Do you live in Hull? Are you currently unemployed or not in any other form of education or training?

If so, the City Healthcare Partnership's Let's Talk Anxiety and Depression Services are available to any young person as part of the Springboard Youth Employment Initiative Programme.

We provide support to people with mental and emotional health difficulties, such as anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem. We can provide therapeutic support and intervention, as well as assessing mental health for the access of other appropriate services. We consist of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Support Time Recovery Workers; all aimed at person-centred support.

Course Details

We work with individuals one-to-one, and can provide assessment and support for mental health needs face-to-face or over the telephone.

We also offer group support:

Allotment Group; a social group aimed at building confidence and improving mood. Learners can do some gardening, grow fruit and vegetables, help build allotment structures, get some fresh air, peace and quiet, or just attend for the social element. No experience needed, and we meet weekly every Tuesday PM (Newland Avenue Allotments).

Behavioural Activation Group: activity group that focuses on increasing young people’s sense of pleasure and achievement. We meet each Thursday afternoon and one week we will have a pleasurable or achievement-based activity (e.g. bowling, documentary watching, park visits, arts & crafts, exhibitions) and the following week we have a workshop where we learn about specific psychology-related topics (e.g. how to challenge negative thoughts, overcoming anxiety etc.).

Mental Health First Aid; we have an accredited course which can teach learners to be Mental Health First Aiders (Lite- 3hrs and Full- 2 days).
