This-Ability is a National Lottery Community Fund programme aimed at finding 500 young people sustainable employment.

The aim of the project is to provide specialist support and training for young people to access work and learning. This will give young people the opportunities to explore and experience specific occupational sectors. Participants will also complete an ‘Employability Passport’.

Hull KR Community Trust Learn with the Robins provides support in a relaxed environment and is based at the Hull College Craven Park stadium. Learn with the Robins are delighted to be a part of the This-Ability programme in Hull, working in partnership with Humber Learning Consortium, we are supporting young people aged 18-29 who have a disability, learning difficulty or long-term health problem to find meaningful and sustainable employment.

Over a period of 12-16 weeks our young people will learn and be able to demonstrate all the skills needed in the world of work. These skills include self-management, business and customer awareness, teamwork, IT skills, problem solving and communication. We mentor each young person and full support is available throughout and beyond the programme.


Course Details

• Employability Passports delivered via the This-Ability programme

• Bespoke one to one employability support that is tailored to the individuals needs

• Focussing on job sectors such as Retail, Hospitality and Catering, Security, Sport and Warehousing and Storage.

• Learn new work skills to obtain your employability passport such as Teamwork, Problem Solving, Communication and Digital Technologies amongst others.

• Gain valuable work experience within the departments of the Club and external employers.

• Meet the employers to gain an inside knowledge of their industries and employment opportunities,

• Create a quality and up to date CV and cover letter

• Learn how to use a range of websites/IT to search and apply for vacancies

• Help to identify appropriate training and education opportunities to increase your chances of success

• Access to volunteering opportunities within the stadium

• Group sessions available to help with confidence and team building

• Help with interview preparation and presentation skills

• Gain access to other projects within the Trust to assist with positive changes to your health and wellbeing

• Travel paid for all participants


How will it be delivered and assessed?

Learner will work to achieve an Employability Passport with a dedicated mentor
