Course Summary

Our role is to support adults with a learning disability into employment. Worklink aim to offer a varied range of opportunities whilst gaining skills required for employment.
In Gardens and maintenance people train and learn many gardening skills such as :

  • Growing
  • Planting
  • Sowing
  • Using tools once competency checked
  • Customer service skills
  • Using hand held machinery once trained and checked
  • Making and repairing wooden items for the site, including sanding, painting and building raised beds and planters for instance.

Course Details

The Worklink service is for one day, per week for a year working towards a vocational profile which helps identify employment skills for work. This is then reviewed to see if people are ready for work and if not, what the next steps are.
