Course Details

Studying this course, you will learn the foundational skills for a career in horticulture – the care and use of plants for gardens, parks and food. You will learn how to work safely in a horticulture workplace.

You will learn to identify plants, how to ensure they grow and thrive outdoors, and the science that explains why a plant will do well or badly. You’ll learn the practical techniques that establish and maintain a garden, park or allotment.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The course includes lectures and classroom-based work mixed with practical sessions, giving students' relevant practical experience and industry skills.

Students' work is assessed through an exam and a synoptic assessment, which is a multi-part simulated business exercise
