Course Summary
FareShare Hull & Humber is run by The Goodwin Development Trust. It redistributes surplus food from the food industry to 168 organisations throughout the region – with more signing up every day to become Community Food Members (CFMs). This means that FareShare Hull and Humber’s network of CFMs is now feeding more than 20,000 people who are directly affected by food poverty. Over region covers a vast area, from Whitby down to Lincoln. We are also in receipt of funding to deliver a Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Get into Warehousing employment training programme, based in the warehouse on Suttonfields industrial estate Hull
Course Details
Gaining experience in all aspects of Warehouse & Logistics within a food distribution business: working as part of a team to manually sort and store large deliveries of surplus food, helping to assemble daily orders for deliveries to local charities and community groups, making sure food is within use by dates and handled safely. Will be working in the chillers/freezers as well as outdoors. You will also receive the following qualification in:
- First Aid,
- Manual Handling,
- H&S,
- food hygiene,
- plus a voucher for FLT licence or anything that will help you into employment.
- You will also require to complete job searches and mock interviews in readiness for employment.
