If you’re looking to get ahead in your job, need qualifications to get into further education or just want to update your skills, then this is the course for you.

This FREE course will help you improve your English skills. It will also give you the chance to learn and practice new skills for dealing with everyday situations.

This course focuses on everyday situations, testing you on reading, writing and speaking and listening skills.

Learners will work to achieve a Certificate in Functional Skills English at Level 1 or 2, awarded by Edexcel.

The programme will cover:

Reading everyday text

Instructions, explanations and persuasive text

Reading strategies.

Sentence and grammar work

Vocabulary and word work

Speaking and listening

Once you have completed the English course, you will take two online tests along with a 1 hour speaking and listening assessment. Our hub provides a relaxed environment in which to complete your tests. Tests are taken on a computer, which are then sent electronically to the examination body.

Students must complete an initial assessment prior to starting the course, to see what level or learning is appropriate to them, most learners will likely be at entry level.

ID to be provided prior to course.

Studies may have been completed to help the learner get ahead in their job, get them into further/higher education courses or to update their current skills.
