Course Summary

Are you 16-29?

Do you live in Hull? Are you currently unemployed or not in any other form of education or training?

If you're looking to improve your employability skills to help you get into work, and have a keen interest in events management or games design, then the Goodwin Development Trust's Do It Project might be just what you're looking for....

The Do It Project provides a platform where individuals can thrive with work experience, develop their skills with events management and improve their employability skills. Every learner has access to a key worker who will work alongside them to create a personalised programme, conduct regular reviews and help explore opportunities for progression with additional one-to-one support.

Goodwin Development trust are an organisation committed to improving the quality of life within the communities of Hull. We help by identifying and addressing the needs of the local people and by working in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations.

Course Details

Currently, we are offering weekly online sessions in employability skills, ESOL, Maths and English; as well as online social groups, study groups and a job club. Learners can also become a member of the events team and gain work experience from home, through creating and planning online events in a supportive and friendly environment.

Alternatively, join the games design team and learn how to create video games from home or engage with the Scroll Magazine and help create professional quality online magazines. No previous experience or qualifications are required, as targets are agreed upon individually.

Learners can engage with as much or as little as is right for them and we aim for all members of our programmes to find a meaningful progression after completing their time with us – whether that is a career change, their first ever job, volunteering in the community or continuing their studies.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This will be discussed with you and agreed depending on individual needs.
