Construction Traineeship

The course is designed with the intention on providing young people with the tools and support to be able to successfully gain an apprenticeship within the construction industry.

The programme is run over an 18 week period with 6 weeks delivery within our New Cleveland Street centre and a further 12 weeks work experience with an employer who is looking to employ an apprentice.

For this course to be successful you need to be able to demonstrate the following 5 ponits;

1. Arrive early - NOT ON TIME

2. Attend every day

3. Good work ethic

4. Want to learn

5. Follow instructions

• Multi-Trade Construction Skills
• Employability Skills
• CSCS Training/Test/Card
• 12 Week Work Experience
• Functional Skills in Maths
• Functional Skills in English

18 week programme to prepare young people for the construction industry. The course will be run 6 weeks within our training centre on New Cleveland Street and then you will be introduced to an employer who is looking to take on an apprentice.

Throughout the further 12 weeks you will complete 30 hrs work experience and 1 day within the centre which will give you experience on how you would learn as an apprentice if you were successful in gaining employment from this course.

You need to have a desire to working within the construction industry and want to gain employment as an apprentice.

Throughout the course you must;

• Turn up early to every session and ready to start at the allocated times
• Turn up every day
• Follow all instruction
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn
• Demonstrate a good work ethic

Progression will be to construction apprenticeships within the following areas;

• Bricklaying
• Joinery
• Plastering
• Groundworks
• Multi-Trade
