Course Summary
In this course you’ll learn all about Web Design and Development fundamentals from how to build a website all the way to publishing it onto the internet. You will explore aspects such as web principles, designing for an audience, deadlines and planning, typography and image use as well as many other web based standards.
We’ll introduce you to the fundamental building blocks of the web and make sure you leave this course having developed your very first website!
Course Details
This single unit qualification is designed for learners to learn how to investigate website design and plan, design and create their own website in response to a client brief. They will test and refine the website against the client brief and review their own performance.
Areas covered include:
• Website Fundamentals – HTML, CSS, FTP.
• Website Design – Design proposals, usability, typography and colour use.
• Website Development – Asset sourcing, production and publishing.
• Website Testing – Test plans, user testing, cross browser compatibility and validation.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed through a portfolio of work that you generate as you progress through the course.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however a basic understanding of digital literacy will be required.
