Course Summary
Have you ever wished you knew how to program, but had no idea where to start from? This course will teach you how to program in Python and begin to develop your own software applications. More importantly, it will introduce you to the fundamental principles of computing and it will help you think like a software engineer. So if you are only just starting on your journey to learning how to code then this course will give you all the basic skills that you need.
Course Details
The qualification offers learners an introduction to programming/coding in Python with an opportunity to consolidate those skills, alongside a range of digital skills and other skills valued in the workplace. The learner will produce a portfolio of small programming projects, one of which will be as part of a team, and will host those projects on a Git-based code sharing platform.

• Basic programming principles
• Programming in Python
• Source control through Git
• Team based software development
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed through a portfolio of work that you generate as you progress through the course.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however a basic understanding of digital literacy will be required.
