Course Summary
The Goodwin Better Opportunities (BBO) project offers taught, online and experiential learning opportunities to people over 25 living in the Hull area. Delivery is flexible, allowing for individual circumstances to be taken into account, so that the learner can take part at a pace, time and day to suit them. Opportunities to more effectively look for work are on offer, as are work experience and voluntary work placements.
One-to-one time is spent with each learner, in order that an individual programme of learning can be written up and agreed upon between the learner and BBO team. This programme is then referred to throughout the learner’s time on the project, to ensure that goals are being adhered to and, where necessary, modified to meet the learners’ needs.
The project offers ESOL courses to those learners for whom English is not their first language, as well as local visits to places of cultural interest, in order to broaden the learners’ knowledge of their new hometown.
There is a range of activities on offer designed to build confidence and manage stress. These form a rolling programme, onto which any learner can enrol at any time.
We also run accredited programmes of learning, such as IT via ‘Learn My Way’.
