This course offers an exciting alternative to anyone interested in studying science, but struggles with exams. The course will develop your understanding of science, giving you an insight into the practical applications of science in the workplace. It will cover aspects of the three main sciences, but focuses mainly on biology and chemistry.

There are 6 units in this course: Fundamentals of science Working in the science industry Scientific investigations Physiology of human body systems Chemical laboratory techniques Microbiological techniques All units are assessed by practical coursework which is internally marked and externally moderated.

Five GCSEs grade A* - C/ 4 - 9 - if you are doing a full-time A'level programme Four GCSEs grade A* - C/4 - 9 - if you are combining an A'level with a vocational programme
