Aspire-Igen is a Yorkshire based social enterprise committed to changing lives for the better through learning and work. For the past 25 years we have successfully helped individuals, organisations and communities to achieve their ambitions by providing them with the high quality tools, motivation and support they need, whenever and however they need it. We work in partnership with numerous organisations in education, training, employability and skills to generate positive outcomes for a broad range of client groups from all ages and backgrounds. Working to support the social and economic regeneration of our region, recognising the skills priorities set by our Local Enterprise Partnerships promoting investment in education and training that is informed by real labour market demand.

Course Details

Lone parent

Are they a single parent? Or single guardian?

•Would you like to feel more confident using computers?

•Would you like support that’s fits in with your family commitments?

•Do you struggle to find somewhere to access computers with additional help?


The programme is tailored to your individual requirements and will include varying levels of support depending on your situation, whether you simply would like to improve your IT skills or would like help to explore your next steps into work, education or volunteering.


What does it involve?

•A part time 12 to 26 week programme to suit personal circumstances

•One to one support from a Mentor

•Access to computers and online courses to increase skills and confidence

•Help to get ready for work or volunteering

•Support writing CV’s and cover letters

•Advice about training and courses


Participants will receive a Certificate on completion of online learning

Entry requirements

Do you need help to find employment?

Are you aged 16 or over?

There is support available in the area you live.


Must be a lone parent or lone guardian.

Must be a resident with the Hull City Council boundary HU1 - HU9

Not been on any other HLC funded courses previously.


Proof of:

Legal right to live in the UK

Proof of Age

Proof of Address

Proof of Unemployment
