Course Summary

Activfirst have been working with HLC since 2014 delivering a range of support to people in Hull and East Riding. Since 2016 Activfirst has been delivering Building Better Opportunities (BBO) across the East Riding, predominantly in the Bridlington area. We aim to support participants in the highest areas of deprivation across the town.

We deliver BBO on a one – one basis offering mentoring support to participants with an aim to move them forward into positive destinations including outcomes such as Education and Employment. Our approach is to help engage participants within their local community and to ensure we have excellent engagement and retention rates. The approach has worked well, and we have developed many key partnership’s which has resulted in us gaining positive referral pathways to better engage and support our participants.

We fully utilise the BBO partnership which is within the BBO network. Our approach is less formal and suited to each individual participant that we support, this is to ensure we build relationships and gain trust to encourage them to be able to open up to us so that we are able to support them with whichever barriers they may have.

We pride ourselves on offering a high-quality programme to participants and maintaining contact with any referral agencies and stakeholders we work closely with
