These fees relate to 2023/2024 Tuition fees: £633 ADDITIONAL FEES All students are required to register with AAT upon enrolment. The fee for this is payable directly to AAT and includes admission and annual membership. This is £172 for the level. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that they are registered and entered for the exam on time. Students are required to pay fees for all re-sit exams, these are charged at £60-£65. Where applicable, the fees are payable directly to Wakefield College and will be due in advance of the exam date. Any student entered/registered with an Awarding Body who has been given free entry and then withdraws or is withdrawn by a tutor will incur the certification fee associated with the course. Course Summary

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is a well-respected and recognised qualification within the accounting profession. It is recognised as a major qualification for Technician level accounting staff. Students who gain their Advanced and Professional Diplomas and who have relevant accounting work experience can apply for membership of the AAT and will normally get exam exemptions from the Chartered Accounting Bodies.

Principles of Bookkeeping

Principles of Costing

The Business Environment (This will be assessed within the synoptic exam taken at the end of the course)

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Students will be assessed by computer-based assessments which take place at the end of each taught unit. Results for these units will be given within a few hours of the assessment.

Entry requirements

English and Maths at Level 2 (Level 2 FS or GCSE Grade C or above / 4 or above).

Where the applicant does not meet the course entry requirements - Level 2 or GCSE qualification at grade C/4 or above in maths and/or English, entry will be considered on successful completion of the Introduction to Business Course Level 1.

A job role in Accounting or Finance would be beneficial.

Students will complete initial and diagnostic assessments at the start of the course.


Your next steps...

Students may progress through the AAT levels, then to further Accounting qualifications with one of the Chartered bodies. The AAT has close links with various accountancy bodies and exemptions may be available if you choose to complete the Advanced and Professional Diplomas in order to progress to Chartered level.
