Course Summary

The Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training will develop learners’ knowledge and skills in gym instruction and personal training, to enable you to pursue a career in personal training.

Course Details

This qualification will provide a combination and knowledge and skills to plan, prescribe and deliver safe and effective exercise programmes and personal training sessions. The units which will be covered include Anatomy and Physiology, Participation in Sport, Health and Nutrition and Sports Coaching.

How will it be delivered?

This programme is part exam and part coursework assessed; delivered through a series of innovative projects and designed to develop your independent learning as the year progresses.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, where possible, including English Language and Maths (although this will not prevent entry to the programme where learners demonstrate appropriate behaviours and attitudes towards their ongoing English and Math development)

a relevant Level 2 qualification, such as a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport, plus an ability to operate at Level 2 in either English or Maths.
