An exciting opportunity for an apprentice to be the first point of contact for learners entering the centre has become available at Hull Training and Adult Education. There is an opportunity to gain extensive experience from being involved in working with a wide range of people and supporting a variety of teams.

The BBC Learning and Information Centre based at Queens Gardens, Hull is a central point for learners coming into centre for recruitment, classes and events.  The apprentice is responsible for greeting and directing learners as they come into the centre and providing information to members of the public who wish to find out more about the service.

The role is varied, but typical duties will include:

  • Greeting and directing visitors as they come into the centre
  • Logging members of the public onto public computers, ensuring the computer policy is followed
  • Dealing with customer queries, answering where possible and referring to the appropriate person where necessary
  • Utilising Microsoft Office suite for general administrative tasks
  • Producing marketing material using Adobe Software
  • Supporting with Marketing Events and Promotions

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to check own work for accuracy
  • Computer literacy including a good understanding of Microsoft and Adobe Packages

  • Confident manner dealing with people in person and on the phone
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
  • Self- motivating and able to work independently, as well as working and contributing to a team

  • Maths and English GCSE at C or above or equivalents
