Overview

This 4 year marine engineering apprenticeship programme delivered in conjunction with HETA (Humberside Engineering Training Association Ltd) meets the requirements of STCW 111/2 for crew working on yachts, work boats, crew transfer vessels, tugs, fishing vessels and survey vessels.

On successful completion, apprentices would be ready to achieve the MIN524 certificate of competency as a small vessel engineering officer.

Details

Course Structure:

Year 1 - Study at Hull Trinity House Nautical College covering Level 3 Maths & Science alongside seamanship skills and industry certification

Year 2 - Workshop based study at HETA covering Level 3 Engineering and the MOET (maintenance and operations engineering technician) standard

Years 3 & 4 - Placement with employing company including significant time at sea

The course is delviered through a combination of academic, practical, and work related experiences
