Level 3 Pre-Cadetship in Shipping & Maritime Operations

The programme includes coverage of deck, bridge and engineering skills to provide a broad base for students seeking to join the maritime industry in a shipboard role, but is also suitable for those students who are unsure of their final destination or intended career. The programme is suitable for those students who have never studied Nautical Sciences before and are looking to take their first steps into the industry, as well as those who already have some prior knowledge and experience. The college is open to all genders and students benefit from our extensive connections within the maritime industry.
A blended learning pathway comprising of classroom and practical elements covering seamanship skills, industry certification alongside the academic subjects of A Level Maths and Physics to prepare students for entry into a sponsored officer cadetship as either a bridge or engineering officer.
This course has a duration of 2 years
The course is a combination of formal academic qualifications, industry qualifications and sea-time experience.

Grade 4 - English
Grade 6 - Maths
