Course Summary

This course is for you if you would like to develop all round performance skills and transferrable skills opportunity to develop all-round performance skills and transferable skills such as self-confidence, self-presentation, personal discipline, time management and organisational skills which are highly regarded by higher education and employers. The BTEC Level 3 in Performing Arts is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTECs or A Levels.

Course Details

Performing Arts has always played an important role here at Wyke Sixth Form College, from the winter Christmas shows to the college production at Easter. Whether you want to study the arts academically or just be involved as a hobby or enrichment this is the place for you! The Performing Arts department has seen exceptional success both on stage and off it. Not only does the department offer both A Level and BTEC courses to accommodate a number of students across all abilities, it is also provides students with the work experience and enriching opportunities to develop young people.

BTEC Performing Arts (Acting) Extended Certificate (single)

Single subject choice: 4 x lessons a week, and studied alongside 2 x other subjects

33% external assessment

Unit 3: Group Performance Workshop (externally assessed)

Unit 19: Acting Styles

Unit 23: Singing Techniques for Performance

Unit 29: Storytelling

Unit 34: Developing Skills and Techniques for Performance

How will it be delivered?

A combination of external and internal assessed coursework and an external exam.
