Course Summary

Studying English Language and Literature will improve your analytical,
creative and communication skills. It combines well with almost every
subject and is highly valued by Higher Education institutions and employers.

The Language and Literature Course seeks to build on students’ existing
knowledge developed at GCSE, of their own language.

During this course, students will examine non-literacy and media materials
as well as a range of classic and modern literacy texts. Students will be
expected to evaluate styles, purposes and effects of language.

You will study a range of fiction, poetry and drama from various periods.

Entry requirements
