Engineering BRITE Programme

The Engineering BRITE programme is designed to give learners the skills, knowledge and experience to take next steps into work. It is a Pre-Apprenticeship Programme with a clear focus on Engineering. Local employers and organisations will be supporting this programme to give additional enrichment to the programme, learners will develop personally, socially and become ready for the working environment. The programme delivery supports the learner as they are not yet apprenticeship ready, each individual learner has their own plan detailing reasons for the support required tackling a range of barriers including functional skills, confidence, unsure of vocational route / area, lack of work experience / knowledge.
• Local Enterprise Partnership Approved Employability Passport
• Work Experience with a potential employer within chosen field and sector
• Functional Skills Maths and/or English if required.
• Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology
During the programme you will gather evidence for your portfolio which will be assessed throughout the programme. You will also undertake an assessment to test your engineering knowledge towards to the end of the programme. There is no need to worry though, we will make sure you are ready at each assessment phase. If you need extra help with your Maths and English we will look to embedded this during the programme so when it comes to sitting you exams you are ready to go.
Gaining good GCSE grades is something you should always aim for; however, we will ask you to complete an entry assessment, attend an interview and then we’ll prepare you an individual learning plan detailing the support you will receive throughout your Traineeship.
After undertaking the BRITE traineeship programme you can progress onto an intermediate Apprenticeship or into paid employment.
