Course Summary

Choosing to study BTEC Level 3 in Business is an excellent option for students who have a keen interest in understanding the world of business.

This two year course aims to prepare students with the knowledge they would need to work in any industry, create their own business or to further their education at university.

Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different enrichment opportunities such as; national entrepreneurship competitions, chances to visit regional companies to allow for application of knowledge as well as educational visits to prestigious universities to help support students academic progression.

The BTEC Level 3 in Business is available in two different forms;

  1. BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business (equivalent to 1 A Level)
  2. BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business (equivalent to 2 A Levels)

Course Details

Unit 1: Exploring Business

Learners study the purposes of a different businesses, their structure, the effort of the external environment, and how they need to be dynamic and innovative to survive.

Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign

Learners will gain skills relating to, and an understanding of, how a marketing campaign is developed.

Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance

Learners study the purpose and importance of personal and business finance. They will develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand, analyse and prepare financial information.

Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process*

Learners explore how the recruitment process is carried out in a business. The unit gives learners the opportunity to participate in selection interviews and review their performance.

How will it be delivered?

A combination of internal/externally assessed coursework and external examinations.
